Only 1 mile from Garner State Park!
Leakey's July Jubilee

The Leakey Parade takes place on Saturday morning every 4th of July weekend. It starts at 10am and begins near the Leakey school on Hwy 83, passes by the court house and ends on Hwy 337. Last year there were about 100 homemade floats. You will see small and large floats, horses and the famous chair dancers! The best place to stand or sit is at the beginning. Float participants are eager to throw candy then and often run out towards the end.

The Arts and Crafts Fair is at the Leakey Town Square on Saturday from 8am to 4pm . You will also find delicious food booths.

Check out the Leakey Rodeo! It begins at 8:00pm on Friday and Saturday night. Categories include Bareback, Calf Roping, Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc, Steer Wrestling and Ladies Barrel. Head North on Hwy 83 from Leakey (about 1 mile) and take 336 North. Look to your right and you can't miss it.

At the end of the day you can head off to Garner State Park or stay at for the Old Time Street Dance. It's usually about $7 to get in and lasts from 8:00pm to 1:00am.

Live music in Leakey for 4th of July Street Dance:
Friday - Band starts at 8pm
Saturday - Cover Band starts at 8pm

There is usually a fireworks show in Utopia Park, off FM1050 on Saturday night.

Fireworks are allowed outside of Leakey's city limits. Use caution - don't start a fire! Fireworks cannot be used on Frio River Cabins property after 9:30pm unless permission is granted. All trash must be picked up after.
