Just about 75 yards down the trail, the 1/2 mile of Frio river here is anywhere from 1-5′ deep. Set your chairs and canopy up in the water, hang out on floats, or explore the river bend and check out the little hole just beyond the cypress trees. This spot is private to you and the folks staying in cabin 7 ONLY!

Original 6 riverfront – Shallow Rocky Bank: This spot is perfect for relaxing by the cold Frio River. Imagine sitting in chairs, under canopies, listening to music, and enjoying the tranquil surroundings. It’s also great for families with little ones.  This river frontage is located at the Original 6 cabins property.

Terrace property Deep Swimming Hole: If you’re up for more adventure, head to the deep swimming hole. The water levels range from 3 to 12 feet, making it ideal for tubing, kayaking, or simply floating and chilling.   This river frontage is located at the River Terrace cabins property.

Sheltered beneath the canopy of century-old oaks, this rustic retreat invites you to unwind and immerse yourself in nature. Picture yourself grilling by the back porch, gathering around a crackling campfire, or simply basking in the tranquility. When winter arrives, cozy up to the electric fireplace after a leisurely stroll through the property. The spacious front porch beckons for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine by the fireside.

But it’s not just the earthly delights that captivate visitors. Astronomy enthusiasts flock from all corners of the U.S. to gaze at the ranch’s pristine night sky. With minimal light pollution, the celestial canvas comes alive with a breathtaking display of stars—the kind you won’t find anywhere else.

Birdwatching here is a treat for the senses. Rare breeds like the golden-cheeked warbler and the black-capped vireo draw avid bird lovers year after year. And don’t overlook the lively hummingbirds that flit about during spring and summer!

My husband and I stayed here for five nights over the Easter holiday. We absolutely LOVED it!! The staff is very friendly and answered any questions we had. The cabin we stayed in was very clean, had a refrigerator, oven/stove, and a nice area outside for a bonfire. The scenery is just gorgeous. We will definitely be coming back here.

Awesome site to spend the weekend end. Cell signal isn’t great but that’s a plus. The river is just steps away

This place might be one of our favorite vacations with the kids.  We stayed at Cabin 10. We most enjoyed the fireflies that come out every evening and the hummingbirds that swarm the feeders all day. The kids ran back and forth from the cabin to the river all day. It was perfect for our family, but the slope down to the river might be tough for an elderly person to navigate.

ENJOY PRIVACY AT CABIN #10.

Peace, quiet and the crystal-clear Frio River make this a magical place and one of our most popular locations. Century old oaks provide a shady area to barbecue, enjoy a campfire or just relax on the spacious front porch. Take a walk on our nature trails where abundant wildlife can be seen or stroll down to the river and watch the fireflies come out at night. Hundreds of deer, turkey and many other species of wildlife can be seen throughout the day from the front porch.
