The water levels range from 3 to 12 feet, making it ideal for tubing, kayaking, or simply floating and chilling.  This part of the Frio River is located at the River Terrace Cabins property, just one mile from the ranch.

Astronomy enthusiasts travel from all over the U.S. to star gaze at the ranch’s pristine night sky. The sky is spectacularly lite with the best view of stars you’ll find anywhere.

Bird watching at the ranch is exceptional. Every year bird lovers travel to the ranch to spot some of the most rare breeds including the golden cheeked warbler and the black capped vireo.

Take a walk on our primitive nature trails where abundant wildlife can be seen or stroll down to the open field and watch the fireflies come out at night. Hundreds of deer, turkey and many other species of wildlife can be seen throughout the day from the front porch. This cabin was absolutely perfect for an unplugged few days. Close to Garner and a reasonable distance from Lost Maples, this was a great base for hitting the state parks and returning to good beds and warm fires. The kitchen had just what we needed for knocking together some meals. The river was so close and there was plenty of space and quiet. Truly beautiful. The kids want to go back every year. Only suggestion would be to offer a self check-in. The office is hard to find at night.

This cabin was so perfect. The location is amazing and was everything we were looking for! It’s secluded and quiet. It has private access to the river. It had everything you could ask for…Picnic tables, fire pit, grill, places to ride our bikes, hike & swim all on one property. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable. Plenty of room to prepare food for grilling out every day! This was the perfect vacation getaway and we can’t wait to go back again!! Don’t forget a lighter for camp fires. We had to drive all the way to Leakey to find one.
