Relax in complete seclusion on a private ranch with premium Little Frio Creek waterfront. The custom ranch house is nestled above crystal-clear water on 100 acres of stunning hill country. Breathtaking views, swimming, fishing, hiking and kayaking from the back porch. The wildlife diversity is incredible with blackbuck antelope, axis deer, whitetail, wild turkey, ducks and more. Fireflies at night and many species of birds visit the feeders (kept full year round) at Stepladder. 

Enjoy luxury amenities such as oversized gas fireplaces, true luxury linens/ feather down pillows, a tub and separate shower in the master bath, large gas oven, Subzero fridge, a game room with ping pong table, dart board, corn hole and more. The huge back porch and outdoor deck overlooking the water is equipped with a firepit, BBQ grill, outdoor dining table, picnic table and numerous outdoor chairs for different seating options.

Although the ranch offers complete privacy, the drive to the charming town of Leakey is only 4 minutes. Here you can find a good variety of restaurants, shopping, a tackle store, a grocery store, a meat market and more.

*Step Ladder Ranch Lodge sits on 1/2 mile of private Little Frio Creek frontage.  This area has water year around.

On the Scenic byways of the Twisted Sister scenic HWY 337, 3 Miles from Leakey, 10 Miles from Garner State park, 20 miles from Lost Maples State park.

**A $500 refundable deposit is due at check in. Deposits made with a credit card incur a 3.5% fee. Deposits made with check or cash (no admin fee applied) will be mailed back after cleaning and inspection.
Pets are welcome! Pet fee is $20 per pet per night. Pet policy is enforced.
If applicable, the additional person fees and pet fees will be requested after booking.

LINENS & TOWELS: Our luxury linens are provided year-round.  Lighter blankets are great for the summer and warm down comforters and lap blankets are put in for the winter months.  Beach towels are provided for water activities.  (House towels CAN NOT be taken down to the water) 

As our guest, you’ll have access to two private Frio River waterfronts just 12 miles from the house, conveniently located near our office. Choose the shallow, rocky riverbank at the Original Six Cabins, chair seat deep water—perfect for smaller children, wading, fishing and relaxing—or enjoy swimming, floating, and cooling off in the deep swimming hole at our River Terrace property.  For those looking for a true Frio River adventure, one of the area’s most popular float trips begins at County Road 1120 and ends right at our River Terrace property. We make it easy by offering tube rentals and a convenient shuttle service, so you can simply relax and enjoy the float from start to finish.  Plese note: Water conditions vary and cannot be guaranteed.
